In advance of the general election on November 5, the BLET National Division is publishing a list of voting recommendations from the various BLET State Legislative Board Chairmen. The list includes candidates for governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives. The State Chairmen carefully researched candidates before making these recommendations as the best choices to represent the interests of those who work for railroads as well as working families. The list will appear in the Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen News, which is being mailed to all active members. In addition, BLET’s research and recommendations can be found in the Members’ Area of the National Division website. You must first log in to access the information. First-time users will need to register, a quick and easy process that takes just a few minutes. Click here to view in the Members’ Area.
In the race for President, the National Division has prepared an analysis to compare and contrast how each administration (2016-2020 vs. 2020-present) has handled various issues of importance to the BLET, rail labor, rail safety, and the industry as a whole. To read these points of comparison between the two administrations — which include issues such as Amtrak funding, two-person crews, and Mexican crews operating in the United States — please visit the National Division website.
