INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, May 12 — Ballots will be mailed on May 18 to eligible members regarding the BLET’s tentative on-property agreement with the Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern Railroad (DM&E), National President Dennis R. Pierce announced today.

Online voting will be conducted by TrueBallot, Inc., and ballots are due by 3:00 p.m. Eastern standard time on Monday, June 13, 2022. Members can vote using the unique QR code on each ballot, or by going online and using a private PIN found on the ballot.

Members who are eligible and have not received a ballot by Tuesday, May 31, should request a replacement ballot by calling the BLET National Division at (216) 241-2630, ext. 222. When connected with the extension, please leave the following information:

  • your name, mailing address, and phone number;
  • your date of birth; and
  • the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Email requests for ballots will not be accepted because personal information is required to verify eligibility before a ballot can be issued.

The tentative agreement governs rates of pay and work rules for approximately 350 members, and would provide General Wage Increases (GWIs) of 24.75% (27% compounded) for the life of the contract (January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2024). There are no major work rule changes and no health care concessions contained in the tentative pact.
