Kat Bisbikis, National President of the BLET Auxiliary, unveiled the Auxiliary’s new survival guide for railroad families during her presentation Tuesday morning at the Eastern Regional Meeting.

Railroading is one of the most dangerous occupations in the country. The guide, titled “Taking Charge,” explains in detail what every railroad family should know in the event of a tragedy and provides a means to organize a family’s important information. The BLET Auxiliary made “Taking Charge” available to railroad families during the meeting in Daytona.

“Railroad survival guide, practical and informative, not just in a crisis, but in everyday life,” President Bisbikis said. “This comprehensive guide belongs in every railroad worker’s home.”

She was joined on stage by fellow Auxiliary national officers, Rachel Pharris (1st Vice President), Jodi Wallace (Secretary), Chris Baldwin (Treasurer), and Natalie Miller (National Legislative Representative). Miller described the guide as follows: “Everything my family will need to know, that they don’t know they need to know.”

Those interested in a copy of “Taking Charge” can get one in person at the BLET Western Regional Meeting in August, or by emailing Auxiliary Secretary Jodi Wallace, jwallace.bletaux@yahoo.com.
