The BLET has reached a tentative agreement that provides voluntary off days for locomotive engineers and trainmen who work at CPKC’s former Texas Mexican Railway (Tex-Mex). If ratified, the agreement would govern nearly 250 members of Division 244 in Laredo, Texas.
The terms of the tentative agreement stipulate voluntary off days under a 6-days-on, 2-days-off work schedule, automated bid scheduling, and pools and extra boards. The agreement is in response to Articles V, VI, and VII of the 2022 national agreement, which required paid sick leave for rail workers.
The negotiating team consisted of current General Chairman Lance Fisher, former General Chairman Alfonso Arellano, National Vice President Randy Fannon, and retired Vice President Alan Holdcraft.
