Today, the BLET is proud to support our Teamster Brothers and Sisters at Amazon as they fight for higher wages, better benefits, and safer conditions at work. BLET members, officers, and staff are among the thousands standing on Teamster picket lines today as a part of the largest strike against Amazon in U.S. history (blet.link/3P1S6VZ).
The nationwide action follows Amazon’s repeated refusal to follow the law and bargain with the thousands of Amazon workers who organized with the Teamsters. Despite being worth more than $2 trillion, Amazon fails to pay its workers enough to make ends meet and continually puts profits over the safety.
Picket lines have been established at hundreds of Amazon Fulfillment Centers nationwide, including New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco, Skokie, Ill., and in Southern California. Nearly 10,000 Amazon workers have mobilized a movement and joined the Teamsters.
