The BLET scored another short line organizing victory this month, marking the union’s sixth organizing win since mid-2023. Workers from the Carrollton Railroad voted unanimously to join BLET in an election certified by the National Mediation Board on October 9.
The Carrollton Railroad is a subsidiary of CSXT that operates in Western Kentucky near Louisville, Ky., and Cincinnati, Ohio.
BLET’s recent organizing victories include the Florida Gulf and Atlantic (2023), Arizona Eastern Railway (June 2024), COASTER commuter railroad (July 2024), Transglobal Solutions/TGS Cedar Port Railroad (October 2024) and the Georgia Central (October 2024).
