BMWED-IBT National Division officers, General Chairpersons, and staff met in Washington, D.C. this week with the National Carriers Conference Committee for three days of continued bargaining in the wake of the Presidential Emergency Board 250’s recommendations. No tentative agreement was reached.

The National Division Officers and staff, as well as the respective General Chairpersons on each property, will continue meeting with the carriers as early as this weekend to iron out away-from-home expense reimbursements that fully compensate our membership.

It is our goal to reach a tentative agreement that fairly and justly compensates our entire membership on each Class I property. We will continue good faith bargaining throughout this cooling-off period as prescribed by the Railway Labor Act and remain optimistic that a fair deal can be reached, but we will not accept an agreement that fails to equitably reward our members during the railroads’ continued record profitability.

Stay tuned to the BMWED’s social media accounts and subscribe to our E-Alert email news updates (found at bmwe.org) for additional National Bargaining information as it proceeds.
