General Chairman Brian Farkas was reelected last week during the CSXT-Northern Lines General Committee of Adjustment’s quadrennial meeting at the National Division headquarters in Independence, Ohio. The CSXT-Northern Lines GCA comprises 26 Divisions and represents more than 2,300 active and retired members.
Also elected were: 1st Vice Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer David Woods, Division 246 (Evansville, Ind.); 2nd Vice Chairman and Alternate S-T Matt Brandon, Division 121 (Indianapolis, Ind.); 1st Alternate Vice General Chairman Rhett Harbeson, Division 561 (Richmond, Va.); and 2nd Alternate Vice General Chairman Chris Colucy, Division 526 (Wooster, Ohio).
Brother Farkas is a member of BLET Division 121 (Indianapolis, Ind.). He has previously served the BLET as Chairman of the Indiana State Legislative Board (2014-2018). Farkas was elected 2nd Vice Chairman of the GCA in 2017 and elevated to General Chairman on January 1, 2023, following the elevation of Brother Billy Lyons to the office of National Vice President. Farkas hired out with Conrail in Avon, Ind., on May 6, 1996, earned promotion to locomotive engineer in May of 1997, and joined the BLET on Sept. 1, 1997.
