New bipartisan legislation to improve railroad safety following the East Palestine derailment was announced Tuesday as a House subcommittee held a three-hour hearing on what steps were needed to prevent a repeat disaster. The legislation was introduced by Railroads Subcommittee Chair Troy Nehls, R-Texas, and U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., and includes U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Aspinwall, as a co-sponsor.
