In late-March Dayton, Ohio-based progressive punk band called Abertooth Lincoln released a protest song about the East Palestine disaster. The “blistering punk anthem” calls out Norfolk Southern, corporate greed, and Precision Scheduled Railroading — the industry’s cost-cutting operating model — for contributing to the massive 2023 derailment, fire, and toxic chemical spill.
Titled “Precision Scheduled Disasters,” the song is described by Metal Planet Music as a “Molotov cocktail hurled at the railway giant’s profit-driven neglect. With breakneck intensity, ‘Precision Scheduled Disasters’ exposes the corporate cost-cutting that led to the 2023 East Palestine derailment, which spewed 100,000 gallons of toxic waste into the air, soil, and water, poisoning an entire community.”
