Brother Paul Pearson of BLET Division 133 (Denver, Colo.) was reelected by acclamation to his third term as Chairman of the Colorado State Legislative Board at its 8th quadrennial meeting in Centennial, Colo., on September 18.

Brother Pearson hired out with the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1994 and joined the BLET in 1995. He was first elected Chairman at the Colorado SLB’s 2016 quadrennial meeting.

The following officers were elected by acclamation to their first terms: 1st Vice Chairman Chris Sherwood, Division 505 (La Junta, Colo.); 2nd Vice Chairman Ric Johnson, Division 47 (Denver, Colo.); Secretary-Treasurer Jordan Lucero, Division 505 (La Junta, Colo.); and Alternate Secretary-Treasurer Alex Ryu, Division 186 (Denver, Colo.). Elected to serve as Trustees were: Richard Aguilar, Division 256 (Denver, Colo.); Michael Dunkelberger, Division 256 (Denver, Colo.); and Gregory Franz, Division 940 (Denver, Colo.).

“Our theme for this quadrennial meeting was ‘Show up and step up,’ and I was thrilled to see so many Division legislative representatives, Division alternate legislative representatives, and members who are nominated for those positions during the BLET Division Triennial Elections this fall all show up to our meeting, both in person and via Zoom, ready to step up and be the next generation of leaders in the BLET,” Brother Pearson said. “I especially want to thank Brothers Scott Burkey, Jeffrey Lillo, Robert Montoya, Justin Muller, Ryan Parker, and T.J. Verquer. These Brothers served the Colorado State Legislative Board and the BLET well over the last four years and will be stepping away from the COSLB — either for new opportunities or to allow new members to serve.”

The Colorado State Legislative Board represents 11 BLET Local Divisions and approximately 900 active and retired members.
