GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Throughout the recession, railroads have been successful at increasing their revenue, a rail expert said Friday at the Montana Farmers Union Annual Meeting & Convention.
Railroads have been able to increase revenue because the major railroads in the United States face little competition. Also, the rates charged by railroads across the country have also been rising, even during the recession.
