CLEVELAND, September 23 — As a reminder, registration remains open for the BLET Education & Training Department’s workshop for BLET Division Legislative Representatives to be held in Washington, D.C., from October 25-29, 2015. Participation in the workshop is limited to the first 20 who register, and a few spots still remain.

Held in conjunction with the BLET’s National Legislative Office and the National Association of State Legislative Board Chairmen (NASLBC), the workshop will take place at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters headquarters. Classroom training begins at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, with an orientation and discussion of what to expect during the week ahead. All-day classroom training will follow October 26 through October 28, 2015. Upon completion of the classroom training, attendees will participate in a full day on Capitol Hill on Thursday, October 29, with a travel day home scheduled for Friday, October 30.

Content of the workshop will be geared toward Division Legislative Representatives and new State Legislative Board Chairmen.

Those who successfully complete the October 25-28 classroom portion of the workshop will be eligible for a $129 per diem, for classroom days only, from the North American Railway Foundation (NARF). Depending on the class, the stipends will be paid directly to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Division, General Committee of Adjustment, or State Legislative Board.
