Kevin J. Sexton is National Vice President of the 51,500-member Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), a Division of the Rail Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Sexton was elected Alternate Vice President No. 2 at the BLET’s Fifth National Convention in 2022 and was elevated to the BLET Advisory Board effective June 1, 2025, following the retirements of National President Eddie Hall in 2025 and National Vice President Alan Holdcraft in late 2024.

Immediately prior to his elevation to the Advisory Board, Sexton served as General Chairman of the BLET’s Long Island Rail Road General Committee of Adjustment, which represents nearly 1,100 active and retired members. He began serving as General Chairman in 2014, and prior to that served Division 269 as Secretary-Treasurer. During his tenure as General Chairman, he helped negotiate contracts for LIRR engineers that were ratified in 2015, 2017 and 2022. He also negotiated contracts for engineers and trainmen at the New York & Atlantic in 2018 and 2022, which is also a part of the LIRR GCA.

Sexton has served the National Division in various capacities throughout his career. He was a member of the Bylaws Committee during BLET National Conventions in 2018 and 2022, and has served as a Temporary Special Representative since 2013.

Sexton began his railroad career in 1999 as a car appearance maintainer in LIRR’s Maintenance of Equipment department. He transferred to the Transportation Department as an engineer trainee in November 2001 and earned promotion to locomotive engineer in January 2003.
