CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A $10 million wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the father of a woman who was killed after a 4,000-gallon diesel tanker exploded, The Chattanoogan reported.
Daniel Garcia of Marshall County, Ala., father of Lydia Garcia, filed the complaint in Hamilton County Circuit Court. It is brought against Norfolk Southern Railroad.
The suit says Ms. Garcia was working for Progress Rail Service last Nov. 22 using a blow torch when the tanker exploded.
She suffered second- and third-degree burns over 60 percent of her body and later died.
