WASHINGTON, D.C. — Operation Lifesaver, Inc., the national, nonprofit rail safety education organization, announced that regional workshops will be held this year in Kentucky, Maine and Wisconsin for Operation Lifesaver program directors, safety partners, certified trainers and presenters.

“Rail safety advocates in the Northeast, Midwest, and Southeast can mark their calendars and start planning to attend one of three Operation Lifesaver 2011 regional safety training workshops to be held between June and September this year,” said Helen M. Sramek, President, Operation Lifesaver, Inc.

Sramek said that the workshops will include updates on the latest technology, most effective learning tools and successful ways to approach communities with the Operation Lifesaver message in 2011 and beyond.

More information will be posted at www.oli.org in the coming months and sent to Operation Lifesaver program directors, presenters and safety partners.

“We encourage people to register for these affordable workshops,” Sramek continued. “Together, we’re making a difference in highway-rail grade crossing safety and pedestrian rail trespass prevention,” Sramek concluded.
