OMAHA — Union Pacific Foundation has announced grants totaling $693,500 to 33 nonprofit organizations in Nebraska.
“We are happy to support these Nebraska organizations that play such a vital role in people’s lives across the state,” said Jim Young, Union Pacific Railroad president. “For 45 years, the Union Pacific Foundation has supported the efforts of organizations like these that make a difference in the states we serve.”
The foundation gave to 10 United Way organizations across the state.
In Omaha, other recipients were the Mid-America Council of Boy Scouts of America, Creighton University, El Museo Latino, the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation, the Greater Omaha Chapter of the National Safety Council, Nebraska Shakespeare Festival Inc., Omaha Zoological Society Inc., Salvation Army, University of Nebraska Foundation, Western Heritage Society Inc. and the YWCA.
Also receiving grants were the Blair Family YMCA, Merrick County Child Care Inc. in Central City, Columbus Community Foundation Inc., Fremont Area Medical Center Foundation, Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Foundation, Central Nebraska Child Advocacy Center Inc. in Grand Island, Kearney Family YMCA, Kimball Hospital Foundation, North Platte Community Day Care Center Inc., Rape Domestic Abuse Program of North Platte Inc., Sandhills Crisis Intervention Program Inc. in Ogallala and Western Nebraska Community College Foundation in Scottsbluff.
