WASHINGTON, D.C. — California has begun work on the largest infrastructure project underway in the country. Eventually, a high-speed train will connect San Francisco with Los Angeles at speeds of more than 200 miles an hour. The rail project is estimated to cost $68 billion. Some cities in the path of the proposed route hate the rail project, but not Palmdale.
