WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Association of American Railroads (AAR) spent $2.3 million lobbying the federal government in the second quarter on rail safety, track maintenance funding and other issues, according to a disclosure report. According to the Associated Press, the AAR lobbied on legislation involving issues such as railroad competition, track maintenance credits, truck weight limits and passenger rail accident liability.
