Acela returns to Hornell after more than a year of high-speed testing

HORNELL, N.Y. — The Acela trainset is back home in Hornell. The prototype, the first of a fleet of new high-speed rail cars for Amtrak, returned to the Alstom shop Saturday after undergoing high-speed performance testing at the Transportation Technology Center in Pueblo, Colorado.
