After more than 70 years, North Platte and Bailey Yard remain synonymous

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A North Platte without Bailey Yard would seem almost incomprehensible. Bailey’s 2,850-acre area and daily volume of 14,000 railcars remain exponentially larger than the other seven remaining major classification yards in U.P.’s 23-state network.
