ALBION, Mich. — Trains headed between Detroit and Kalamazoo are expected to find the trip a little faster through Albion.
The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Friday that track repairs have been made in the Albion area, where poor conditions had restricted train speeds to 25 mph. Norfolk Southern Corp. spokesman Rudy Husband says in a news release that trains now can safely travel at 40 mph.
He says the fixes also should cause fewer traffic delays and lower the risk of collisions for passenger and freight trains at Albion’s 10 crossings.
