Amtrak calls for new way to fund Northeast Corridor repairs

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Amtrak wants to use operating profits from the Northeast Corridor for major construction projects on the corridor, instead of subsidizing long-distance trains elsewhere in the nation.
