Ridership on Amtrak Cascades hit an all-time record in 2010 as numbers of riders jumped more than 10 percent.
More than 800,000 passengers boarded the trains that run between Vancouver, B.C. and Eugene, Oregon.
Service to British Columbia was the main reason for the growth. More than 138,000 riders traveled to and from Vancouver.
A second daily train to B.C. began in August 2009 and carried many passengers to last year’s Winter Olympics.
