ALBANY, N.Y. — Amtrak will allow passengers to reserve all seats on Empire Corridor trains over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the Albany Business Review reported.
This is the first time this year that Amtrak has allowed all-reserved service on the trains that run through the Albany, N.Y.-area from New York City to Niagara Falls.
The Thanksgiving travel period runs from Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Monday, Dec. 2, 2002.
Amtrak will be adding 50,000 seats during the period and is urging passengers to reserve early for Thanksgiving travel. Thanksgiving is normally Amtrak’s busy travel period, with ridership increasing by about 30 percent, Amtrak officials said.
