TRIBES HILL, N.Y. — The rear car of an eastbound Amtrak train in this Montgomery County hamlet derailed around 2:25 p.m., but there were no passengers in the car and no injuries.

The car that ran off the rails is a dining car attached to the rear of Train 48, The Lake Shore Limited, on its way from Chicago to Rensselaer, said Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole.

The train, bound for Rensselaer, is delayed until crews can detach the derailed car.

CSX spokesman Bob Sullivan said the incident was having no immediate effect on freight traffic.
