ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An Amtrak train had an engine on a passenger train catch fire this holiday weekend, forcing an evacuation.
One hundred and thirty-one people evacuated the train while the Rochester Fire Department put out the fire. The train was traveling from Toronto to New York City.
The passengers were placed on buses to Albany where they caught connecting trains to New York City. Investigators say the fire started in the engine compartment, but are still trying to determine how it started.
