ISELIN, N.J. — Amtrak has finished repairs to NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor rail line in time for the evening commute.
Service was suspended on the corridor’s four tracks after overhead lines came down near Metropark in Iselin Monday night. Some trains were canceled Tuesday morning and others were delayed up to an hour as repair crews worked on the problem.
Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says repair crews had three tracks back in service by 9 a.m. and completed repairs to the fourth track about noon.
The Northeast Corridor handles 118,000 daily trips between Manhattan and Trenton.
