WILMINGTON, Del. — If you’re tempted to do some snowmobiling, four-wheeling, or cross-country skiing after our weekend snowstorm, Amtrak has a friendly reminder – Stay out of the way.
The company says outdoor enthusiasts should never trespass on railroad property. It can take a train up to two miles to come to a complete stop, and trains cannot swerve to avoid a collision.
Four trains were delayed overnight in New England because of trespassers riding their snowmobiles on railroad property.
