CHICAGO — Full service on two rail routes between Chicago and the West Coast is resuming after being disrupted by severe winter weather, Amtrak announced Sunday.

The eastbound California Zephyr from Emeryville, Calif., to Chicago began full service Sunday with no delays. The westbound run will resume Monday.

Service in both directions on that line had been disrupted Friday by unusually high snowfall, making trains almost a day late.

Both east and westbound departures of the Empire Builder line, connecting stations in Seattle and Portland with Chicago, will also resume Monday. Service on that line was suspended in both directions Friday because of extreme weather between St. Paul, Minn., and the West, Amtrak said.
