CHICAGO — Missouri flooding has forced Amtrak to suspend service on the Southwest Chief between Kansas City and Chicago.
Amtrak will be substituting buses for trains along that entire stretch because of damage caused to tracks owned by BNSF Railway.
The disruption is expected to last at least through the weekend, an Amtrak spokesman said.
The Southwest Chief is a cross-country route that starts in Los Angeles and stops in Lawrence and Topeka.
