DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — As Devils Lake and the Lake Region move slowly toward spring, concern is rising for the ability to maintain Amtrak services along the north route, of which Devils Lake is a part.
Contingency plans are apparently in the works to bus potential customers in Grand Forks, Devils Lake and Rugby in the event Devils Lake reaches the level it has been projected to reach. The bus would transport passengers between Minot and Grand Forks.
According to local officials, Amtrak has said once the lake reaches 1453, there’s a strong possibility services would be discontinued.
