SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A new northbound Pacific Surfliner express train between San Diego and Los Angeles began service today and is expected to cut travel time as much as 20 minutes.
The express Surfliner (#563) leaves Santa Fe Station in Downtown San Diego at 7:05 a.m. and stops in Solana Beach, Oceanside, Irvine, and Anaheim before Los Angeles. Tickets are $31 one-way and trip time is listed as 2 hours 28 minutes, by Amtrak.
It gains time by bypassing San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo, Santa Ana, Orange, and Fullerton.
