LYONS, N.Y. — An Amtrak test train derailed Saturday west of Lyons, Wayne County, reports the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, Fla., no one was injured in the accident, which occurred at 10 a.m. at Leach Road and State Route 31.
The train, with two locomotives and nine cars, was testing the track and traveling east from Erie, Pa., to Albany. It was going about about 67 mph when it jumped the track.
