ALBANY, N.Y. — Some Metro-North commuter trains serving the New Haven line could arrive at Penn Station instead of Grand Central, under an agreement between the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Amtrak and the Empire State Development Corp. announced Tuesday by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Four new Metro-North stations would be built in the East Bronx as part of the deal, while Amtrak would explore bringing its own service to Long Island. Its only presence currently is the Sunnyside Yards in Queens, where Amtrak trains are cleaned and maintained.
