ALBANY, N.Y. — Amtrak is resuming passenger service between Albany and Montreal, a day after trains were halted because of flooding along a stretch of tracks in the eastern Adirondacks.

CP Rail owns the north-south tracks used by Amtrak, which runs one train each way daily between Montreal and the Albany-area station.

CP Rail closed the tracks Wednesday just north of Whitehall after they were inundated by flooding. Whitehall is located on Lake Champlain’s South Bay 65 miles north of Albany. Amtrak used buses to transport passengers between Albany and Montreal.
