HALETHORPE, Md. — Amtrak service has restored service between Baltimore and Washington after a water main break.

Amtrak says all scheduled service is operating normally, but trains may be delayed up to 30 minutes through Thursday afternoon while the track is cleaned up.

Amtrak halted all train service between the cities Wednesday, including MARC Penn Line commuter trains, after flooding from a major water main break affected tracks north of the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Baltimore Public Works crews turned off the broken water main Wednesday afternoon and the 36-inch pipe will be replaced Thursday.
