MINEOLA, Texas — An East Texas transportation committee is attempting to make life easier for veterans traveling to the VA Hospital in Dallas. The project could lead the way to helping the general public make use of rail travel more efficiently in the future.
EastTexConnects is a transportation committee that is administered by the East Texas Community of Governments and they are partnering with veterans organizations in East Texas to offer “basic training,” which will be a walk-through program Thursday for 25 veterans that will provide them the chance to visit the VA Hospital without having to depend on automobile travel to Dallas.
