NEW LONDON, Conn. — Amtrak restored its full Boston-to-New York train service Tuesday following a bomb threat near the New London station in Connecticut.

The trains had earlier been delayed for more than two hours because of a suspicious package found at the Greyhound bus station in New London, directly next to the train station, The Day newspaper reported.

State police bomb squads swarmed the area, along with local officers.

The bomb squad detonated the package at approximately 12:30pm ET in a blast that could be heard around downtown, the report said.
