GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Amtrak’s Empire Builder train will mark 75 years of service this weekend.
Celebrations were planned Saturday along the train’s 2,200-mile route along the northern United States.
In Montana, the train will make its regular stop in Havre at 2:39 p.m., where Amtrak President David Gunn is scheduled to speak. Afterward, the party will continue at the city’s Railroad Museum.
A stop in Shelby at 5:17 p.m. will last just five minutes.
Similar celebrations were planned for the Empire Builder in Chicago, St. Paul, Minn., Seattle and other communities.
