BOSTON, Mass. — A new daily Amtrak train service between Greenfield, Mass., and New Haven, Conn., begins this week. The Valley Flyer, the result of a partnership between Amtrak and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, will begin service on Aug. 30, according an Amtrak press release. It will operate on a trial basis through fall 2021 with a goal of 24,000 riders a year.
