CHICAGO — Anacostia Rail Holdings (www.anacostia.com) has appointed Eric T. Jakubowski chief commercial officer, a newly created position, and effective March 19, 2012. He is based in Chicago, where he reports to Peter Gilbertson, Anacostia president and CEO.

His responsibilities include oversight and coordination of marketing activities for Anacostia’s six railroads.

Mr. Jakubowski has more than 28 years of transportation and railroad industry experience, most recently as director of network strategy for CN. He also held the position of director of interline marketing, and was responsible for CN’s integration of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway.

Prior to CN, he held various positions at Conrail. Mr. Jakubowski holds a B.A. from Harvard, an M.S. in Transportation from Northwestern University, and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
