NEW YORK — Self-driving cars are coming. Self-driving trucks, too. OK, maybe they’re not coming tomorrow, but there certainly are a lot of resources and smarts being devoted to separating us from our steering wheels. What about trains? Are self-driving freight locomotives right around the corner?
The answer is no, according to Lance Fritz, the new chief executive officer of the Union Pacific railroad.
