LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Public Service Commission has yet to say how much Entergy Arkansas owes its customers after the PSC ruled almost two years ago that the company failed to keep adequate coal supplies at two power plants, causing rate increases.
Entergy Arkansas had asked the commission to hold off on a decision, pending the outcome of a 2006 lawsuit the utility filed against Union Pacific Railroad. The two companies reached an agreement in April that requires Union Pacific to pay Entergy an undisclosed amount.
The utility now is asking the PSC for a ruling on how much Entergy Arkansas owes its 685,000 customers and for a decision on whether that amount must be kept confidential under the terms of the settlement between the two companies.
It’s also not known when customers would begin seeing the refunds, reflected in their electric bills.
