WASHINGTON, D.C. — AT&T Inc. on Friday announced a new five-year deal with Amtrak to provide a package of telecommunications networking services.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

AT&T will be responsible for implementing and managing the nation’s largest passenger rail service’s wireless network. Amtrak will use AT&T’s security services to protect critical Web sites and personal information of all passengers.

The rail service will also use AT&T voice services, including long distance, audio and web conferencing.

Shares of At&T fell a penny to $24.84 in midday trading.
