CLEVELAND, May 24 — The BLET’s Eastern Union Meeting Association (EUMA) will hold its 75th annual convention in Baltimore, Md., from July 28-August 1, 2013.

Arrangements Chairman Fred Cox (BLET Division 52) hosted the EUMA at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor 10years ago, and the Brotherhood is returning again this year due to popular demand.

Guests will stay at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor. Reservations can be made by calling (410) 528-1234 or (888) 591-1234, or online at the BLET National Division website, www.ble-t.org/euma. Hotel reservations must be made by July 5, 2013.

The early deadline for EUMA registration is July 1, 2013. Those who register on or before July 1 will receive a $20 discount. Registration forms are available online, www.ble-t.org/euma.

A number of educational seminars are being offered at the 2013 EUMA, including workshops for Legislative Representatives, Secretary-Treasurers and Local Chairmen. The Local Chairmen workshop will devote time to electronic tape reading. Also being offered is a BLET mobilization workshop and a health and welfare workshop. Workshops are scheduled for July 31.

In terms of entertainment, the 2013 EUMA kicks off with a welcome reception at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad museum on July 28. Open ceremonies and closed meetings will be held on July 29. The annual EUMA golf tournament is slated for July 30. The tournament will take place at the Greystone Golf Course, a top 50 municipal course located in Whitehall, Md. Non-golfers will enjoy Inner Harbor tours and shopping during the day on July 30. A trip to Camden Yards is scheduled for the evening of July 30, featuring a Major League baseball game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Houston Astros, with a picnic at the ballpark prior to the game. The 2013 EUMA concludes the evening of July 31 with the formal banquet and the EUMA scholarship awards program.
