LAS VEGAS – Delegates attending the BLET’s First Quadrennial Convention today reelected Don Hahs as National President of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.

He is the first president to win reelection since BLE delegates reelected John Sytsma in 1981.

In addition, National Vice Presidents Dale McPherson, Merle Geiger and Steve Speagle were reelected to four-year terms. Vice President McPherson won reelection by acclamation after his challenger withdrew from the election.

Hahs, McPherson, Geiger and Speagle join five other incumbents who won reelection earlier this week. First Vice President Rodzwicz, National Secretary-Treasurer Bill Walpert, Vice President Paul Sorrow, Vice President Rick Radek and Vice President Lee Pruitt, who were all reelected by acclamation on Monday.

Newly elected to the Advisory Board today were John Tolman, the BLET’s new Vice President & National Legislative Representative, and Marcus Ruef, who won election to the office of National Vice President. Brother Ruef fills the slot vacated by retiring Vice President Paul Wingo.
