TROY, Ala. — Virginia Collins Smith Davenport, 86, of Troy, died at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Monday, November 5, 2007. Visitation will be at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church. The honorary pallbearers are the Ledbetter Prayer Group and the Ruth Sunday School Class at Southside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davenport is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Nelson Floyd of Troy, sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Ann Smith of Prattville, and Tony and Ann Smith of Troy, granddaughters and their spouses, Denise and Marc Cancel of Enterprise, Jenny F. Carswell of Troy, and Kim and J.R. McIntire of Des Moines, Iowa, grandsons and their spouses, Bryant and Amy Smith of Troy, Anthony Smith of Troy, and Mike and Laurie Smith of Des Moines, Iowa, great grandchildren, Justin (Lorie) Richburg, Kaitlin Carswell, Kelsea and Taylor Ann Smith, and Porter James McIntire, sisters, Mildred Collins of Montgomery, and Belma Wilson of Ft. Deposit, sister-in-law, Alice Collins of Ocean Springs, California, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. Davenport, father and mother, Thomas Lee and Ida B. Collins, brothers, Fred Collins, and Grover Collins, and brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Earlie Mae Collins.
