BLET members turned out in strong numbers and came prepared with thoughtful, detailed questions at our recent Town Hall meetings in Harrisburg, PA, on November 16, and Pittsburgh, PA, on November 17. See photo highlights of the Pennsylvania meetings. The discussions were active and honest, with members pressing for clarity on key provisions of the tentative national agreement and how it will impact engineers.

In both cities, attendees — many of them Norfolk Southern engineers — also took time to speak directly with National President Mark Wallace and the National Division officers in attendance about the proposed Norfolk Southern-Union Pacific merger. Members shared concerns, asked pointed questions, and made sure their voices were heard as leadership continues evaluating the potential implications for jobs, safety, and the future of the industry.

These meetings are part of the National Division’s ongoing effort to ensure every member has access to accurate information, space to engage face-to-face, and the opportunity to speak directly with their elected leaders.

More Town Halls are scheduled across the country, both in person and via Zoom, as we move through the ratification period. Please keep an eye on the BLET website and our social media channels for updates as additional sessions are announced.
