In late September, members of the BLET’s Nebraska State Legislative Board (SLB) took part in the Nebraska State AFL-CIO’s 46th Biennial Constitution Convention in Kearney. The BLET, which is affiliated with the state labor federation, represents roughly 1,000 members across the Cornhusker State. “The solidarity and shared commitment demonstrated by all participants highlight the vital role of collaboration in achieving our common goals,” said BLET State Legislative Board Chairman Adam Hausman.

The Nebraska AFL-CIO is comprised of unions from all sectors of the state’s economy. During this convention a member of a fellow Rail Labor union, Mike Gage of IBEW Local 1920, was elected president. Gage has been a diesel electrician at Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard since 2005.
